Sometimes I Feel That God Awards Me... I Saved 2 Dollars on a 6 dollar Budget

As Salaam Alaikum,

Now I'm not the type of person who believes in the whole "God talked to me so I did this and this" thing. Rathar I believe that I have a good conscious, and sometimes when I follow that good conscious I feel that I am awarded by God... often with something dealing directly over my dillema. Here's my story:

Tomorrow I have to bring food to school for the Beta Club meeting in the morning. At first I was going to bring 3 medium size bags of chips, then I decided to call someone and ask how many poeple are expected to attend, and they said 15. So I was like "darn!"... Those 3 bags weren't going to be enough... so for about 30 minutes I troddled back and forth from the chip aisle to the candy aisle, trying to figure out what I can get that could feed 15 poeple on a 6 dollar budget (and I really didn't want to spend 6 dollars at all)... I didn't want just regular candy, I wanted food that was snack like.. like chips, crackers, cookies, etc.

But anyway, as I was trying to figure out what to get. I was faced with getting a Rice Krispie jumbo bag (you know with the small snack sizes inside of them wrapped up). Now I would of bought it, but I was stopped in my tracks because rumor has it (but I'm not for sure) that Rice Krispie has pork in it (geletan and mono-dyglecirde). I have really wanted one of those RK's for a week now (I wanted to drool when I saw this girl in class eat one), but I've been avoiding it becuase I'm unsure if it has pork in it or not.

So I really wanted to convice myself that if I didn't know, then I don't know, therefore ALlah's knows best and if there's pork in it, then I don't know and there's no harm in giving it out. lol. Then I wanted to convince myself that there's NO WAY pork is in it. But then it all came back to "Well i don't know"... and how I rememeber that if we don't know, we should just avoid it.

What made matters even worst and tempting, was the fact that the RK jumbo pack was just 2.49 and the other jumbo packs were 2.99!!! So I thought about it for a while, and then decided that I would just go for the other jumbo pack for 2.99, plus another jumbo pack for 2.99.... So I walk up to the cashier all bummed out because I am about to spend 6+ dollars on this once taxes are added in... and then she rings it up and guess what?!!!

It's 1.88!!!! I was like "1.88?!" and she was like "yea". I guess they haven't put up the fact that it's on sale now... anyways I was so happy. I saved like 2 dollars and something cents, that I thought I would have to spend.

So honestly I feel that maybe I was awarded for resisting temptation. Just a test. I suppose my punishment for taking the RK would of been spending 2 extra dollars that I wouldn't have had to spend if I had gave in....

Ramadhan Mubarak! And I Have a "News Blog" As Well

So how is Ramadhan? Today is my first day of fasting. Yes, unlike many people I chose to start when I saw the moon in my own country (the USA). It really makes me upset when people choose to go by other countries and start and not their own country and town. Man it makes me upset, really upset. I would really like to celebrate eid together with all of my family at once. But unfortunnatly I wont be able to. Geesh people.

Jummah Is Tomorrow

Tomorrow is jummah everyone. I hope all of you go, Insha'Allah and enjoy the khutbah. I am going, checking out of school early (checking myself out may I ask!). Well what else? Nothing really... just chilling.

I Love My Hair

As Salaam Alaikum,

Man I love my hair. I love the way it feels. Dry, some moisture, tight curls. I love the way I can just wrap it around my finger and when I let it go it bounces back. I love feel running my hands through it and the curls just tickle my finger tips. Oh Allah! Thank you so much for it.

Ramadan is Coming

As Salaam Alaikum,

Ramadan is coming soon. Alhumdulilah. I can’t wait. Insha’Allah I will loose some wait. No more eating French fries almost everyday for lunch, and stuff like that. I am wondering if maybe I should sacrifice some other things… but I am not sure. I don’t really have any strong addictions anymore, they’ve dwindled down.

Also I have to plan for my party. Yikes. It’s going to be soooo much. I can’t wait!
